Bilingual Medical Assistant – English/Spanish

Location: Hempstead, NY Schedule: Full-Time Pay: $19–$23 per hour

MedStaff Group is seeking an experienced and dependable Bilingual Medical Assistant for a busy healthcare facility in Hempstead, NY. The Medical Assistant will support providers across primary care and specialty services while helping maintain efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience.

Schedule

• Monday: 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Tuesday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
• Wednesday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, allergies, and reasons for visits.
• Prepare examination rooms, equipment, supplies, forms, and specimens.
• Assist providers during examinations and clinical procedures.
• Perform EKGs, urinalysis, glucose testing, pregnancy testing, rapid testing, specimen collection, injections, and other approved clinical services.
• Accurately document patient information, tests, procedures, and communications in the electronic health record.
• Support medication, laboratory, imaging, referral, prior-authorization, and patient follow-up workflows.
• Clean and disinfect examination rooms and equipment between patients.
• Maintain clinical and laboratory supplies and report low inventory.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and Article 28 requirements.
• Assist across primary care, specialty, laboratory, and other clinical areas as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients in both English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent training and experience.
• Experience with patient intake, vital signs, specimen handling, point-of-care testing, and clinical documentation.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience using electronic health record systems.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy, team-based medical practice.
• BLS certification or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of outpatient Medical Assistant experience.
• CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA certification.
• Experience using eClinicalWorks.
• Primary care, specialty, pediatric, or Article 28 experience.
• Experience with EKGs, immunizations, audiometry, ophthalmic testing, or point-of-care testing.

Compensation: $19–$23 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
