Position Overview

A well-established affordable housing organization is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Leasing Agent to support multiple residential communities throughout San Francisco. This position plays a critical role in providing exceptional service to prospective and current residents while supporting leasing, occupancy, and administrative operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leasing, property management, customer service, or administrative support and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current residents.
  
• Respond to phone, email, and walk-in inquiries regarding available housing opportunities.
  
• Schedule and conduct leasing interviews and appointments.
  
• Assist applicants with completing rental applications and gathering required documentation.
  
• Maintain applicant waitlists and follow up on leasing opportunities.
  
• Support move-in, move-out, and transfer processes.
  
• Process and maintain resident files, applications, and supporting documentation.
  
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of resident records in accordance with company policies.
  
• Perform data entry, filing, scanning, and document management functions.
  
• Prepare correspondence and resident communications as needed.
  
• Assist with general office operations and administrative projects.
  
• Provide professional and courteous service to residents, applicants, vendors, and visitors.
  
• Address resident questions and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  
• Build positive relationships with residents while promoting a welcoming community environment.
  
• Collaborate with property management staff to support occupancy and resident retention goals.
  
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  
• Ensure files and processes comply with Fair Housing and affordable housing regulations.
  
• Assist with audits, file reviews, and other compliance-related activities as needed.
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience in leasing, property management, affordable housing, customer service, or administrative support preferred.
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  
• Experience processing applications, tenant files, or housing documentation is highly desirable.
  
• Knowledge of affordable housing programs, tenant eligibility requirements, or property management software is a plus.
