Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough intakes and assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.

• Utilize the current DSM for diagnosis and to formulate treatment objectives, applying clinical interventions based on professional counseling practices.
\n
• Engage in individual and group therapy sessions, tailoring your approach to meet the diverse needs of clients, including Veterans and other community members.
\n
• Collaborate with Primary Care Providers (PCPs) to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care, maintaining clear communication about treatment progress and challenges.

• Implement evidence-based interventions and regularly evaluate treatment effectiveness, adjusting approaches as necessary to ensure positive outcomes for clients.
\n
• Document all clinical interactions thoroughly using our electronic health record system, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Contribute to interdisciplinary team discussions and care planning to enhance service delivery and patient support.
\n
• Maintain professional development by engaging in continued education and adhering to ethical codes and regulations affecting counseling practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including individuals with psychiatric conditions and those experiencing substance use challenges. This role entails providing care to Veterans, a group with unique mental health needs. You will ensure that treatments are culturally sensitive and catered to help clients achieve their personal goals, whether these are related to wellness, symptom management, or life transitions.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York.

• A minimum of one year’s experience working in mental health with specific exposure to psychiatric patients or substance use disorders.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 60,000 to 95,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
