Hotel Operations Manager

Description We’re seeking a detail-oriented, hands‑on Hotel Operations Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day performance of our “heart of haus” property experience teams. This role is critical to ensuring the property is clean, well‑maintained, and operating efficiently behind the scenes so that every guest experience runs smoothly. You’ll partner closely with the General Manager and other department leaders to drive operational excellence, maintain high standards, and support a strong, accountable team culture. Key Responsibilities Housekeeping Operations Oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet cleanliness and brand standards. Partner with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Housekeeping team on overall property cleanliness and daily operational efficiencies. Manage staffing, scheduling, and productivity for the housekeeping team. Conduct inspections and ensure quality control across all areas of the property. Support training, coaching, and development of housekeeping staff. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering of housekeeping supplies. Optimize Rooms food and beverage program. Engineering & Maintenance Partner with the Engineering Lead and Engineering team on preventative maintenance programs. Ensure timely response and resolution of maintenance requests and work orders. Monitor vendor relationships and coordinate third‑party services as needed. Support capital projects, repairs, and ongoing property improvements. Operational Leadership Lead, coach, and support team members to drive accountability and performance. Recruit, hire and oversee training for all new hires in Housekeeping and Engineering departments. Process and approve invoices and maintain department budgets. Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Monitor and manage departmental budgets, including labor and operating expenses. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance operational performance. Serve as Manager‑on‑Duty as needed, supporting overall hotel operations, including Front Desk shifts as needed. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with Front Office and other departments to ensure alignment on room readiness, maintenance issues, and guest and member satisfaction. Communicate effectively across teams to ensure smooth daily operations. Support overall property goals and guest experience initiatives. What We’re Looking For 2+ years of experience in hotel operations, housekeeping, or engineering/maintenance Prior leadership experience managing teams (Housekeeping and/or Engineering preferred) Experience with scheduling, labor management, and operational planning Familiarity with hotel systems and maintenance tracking tools Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and property standards A hands‑on, operational leader who thrives behind the scenes Highly organized with strong attention to detail A proactive problem‑solver who can manage both people and processes Comfortable leading teams in a fast‑paced hospitality environment A strong communicator who can work across departments effectively Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
