Senior Business Development Executive

Job Duties

Key Responsibilities

Lead identification, qualification, and capture of strategic opportunities across Department of Defense (DoD) organizations including U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, and Defense Agencies.

Develop and execute win strategies for large, complex programs in enterprise IT, digital transformation, mission systems, and defense modernization.

Build and maintain executive-level relationships with government customers, acquisition officials, and industry partners.

Shape opportunities pre-RFP, influencing requirements, acquisition strategy, and competitive positioning.

Drive full capture lifecycle activities including opportunity assessment, competitive analysis, solution alignment, and pricing strategy.

Lead color team reviews and coordinate cross-functional teams including solution architects, operations, pricing, and executive leadership.

Maintain and grow a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned to revenue and growth targets.

Present capture strategies, win themes, and business cases to executive leadership to support bid decisions and investments.

Required Qualifications

15+ years of experience in federal business development, capture management, or growth leadership within the DoD market.

Proven track record leading captures and winning large-scale government contracts valued at $100M+.

Experience supporting one or more DoD customers including U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, or Defense Agencies.

Strong understanding of federal acquisition processes, FAR/DFARS, and competitive procurement strategies.

Demonstrated ability to lead captures from opportunity identification through contract award.

Ability to clearly articulate individual contributions to wins, including contract value, role, and customer engagement.

Executive presence with strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
