Substance Use Counselor

Compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor Needed! Position Overview The Substance Use Counselor will assist patients through medically assisted treatments and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts individual and group sessions to manage crises and develop coping strategies. The counselor evaluates patients’ progress and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to help patients achieve overall outcomes. Responsibilities Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for crisis management and coping strategies. Evaluate patients’ progress and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to help patients achieve overall outcomes. Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment. Facilitate, establish, and review each patient’s initial treatment plan. Complete bio-psychosocial assessments. Develop aftercare and discharge plans. Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services in a trauma-informed manner. Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor. Qualifications Must possess an LCDC in the state of Texas. Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred. Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward the patient population. Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
