Accounting Coordinator

Job Title: Accounting Coordinator Job Overview: Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to join our client in a role that supports key business operations and contributes to important organizational initiatives. Located in Holbrook, New York, this Direct Hire opportunity is Onsite and offers convenient parking. The position provides broad exposure to accounting, payroll, project administration, compliance, and office operations while serving as a key financial resource for the business. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners. Compensation: $70,000 to $75,000 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus Work Schedule: Normal business hours Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Coordinator:

Oversee daily financial operations across payables, receivables, general bookkeeping, employee incentive calculations, insurance related transactions, and collection activity.

Maintain accurate records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, complete monthly closing procedures, and reconcile banking, supplier, payroll, and general ledger activity.

Coordinate weekly payroll, electronic payments, paid leave records, union benefit remittances, and required quarterly federal, state, and regional tax submissions.

Support project financial administration by establishing project records in QuickBooks, reviewing labor and material costs, producing customer invoices, and monitoring financial reports.

Deliver audit documentation, financial reporting, compliance information, invoicing support, and general office administration while operating independently and communicating with broader organizational stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills for the Accounting Coordinator:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

At least two to three years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, including payables, receivables, payroll administration, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Practical experience with QuickBooks and proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Knowledge of payroll tax reporting, including Forms 940 and 941, New York State payroll filings, regional transportation tax filings, and New York and New Jersey sales tax reporting.

Strong attention to detail, independent problem solving ability, sound organization skills, and effective written and verbal communication.
