Every team member plays a vital role in creating a safe, compassionate, and efficient environment for our patients.**Core Values**Confidentiality • Quality • Teamwork • Trust • Respect**Position Overview**The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle and organizational success by leading recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, provider credentialing, compliance, benefits administration, and workforce development initiatives. This position partners closely with leadership to foster a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance with employment regulations, and implement human resource strategies that attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent.The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees, leaders, physicians, and applicants while promoting organizational excellence and supporting Yellowstone Surgery Center’s mission and values.**Duties and Responsibilities:**Talent Acquisition & Onboarding* Lead recruitment efforts by sourcing, interviewing, and coordinating the hiring of qualified candidates* Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies* Conduct or coordinate background checks, employment eligibility verification, and pre-employment requirements* Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation to ensure a positive transition into the organization* Support onboarding and orientation activities for newly credentialed providersEmployee Relations & Workforce Support* Serve as a resource for employees and leaders regarding HR policies, workplace concerns, and employment practices* Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance management initiatives* Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations as appropriate* Promote employee engagement, recognition programs, morale initiatives, and professional development opportunities* Respond to employment-related inquiries while maintaining confidentiality and professionalismProvider Credentialing & Student Coordination* Coordinate credentialing activities for non-employed providers, including verification of licenses, certifications, and regulatory requirements* Prepare credentialing information for review by the Credentialing Committee and support provider onboarding activities* Manage documentation and coordination for students, observers, and affiliated educational programs* Maintain affiliation agreements, confidentiality documentation, liability requirements, and rotation schedules with provider offices and organizational leadershipBenefits Administration & Leave Management* Administer employee benefit programs and ensure accurate enrollment and eligibility information within the HRIS* Coordinate benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual Open Enrollment activities* Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefit plans, eligibility, and claims* Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability leave, and personal leaves of absence* Interpret leave regulations and guide leaders and employees regarding compliance and eligibility* Support 401(k) administration, annual catch-up contributions, and retirement plan communicationsCompliance, Training & Regulatory Oversight* Monitor compliance with mandatory education, licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements* Coordinate and document required organizational training, including safety and compliance initiatives* Ensure completion of regulatory reporting requirements, including OSHA, ACA, Workers’ Compensation, ERISA/5500, and EEO-1 reporting* Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and recommend policy updates and best practices* Stay informed of changes in employment law, HR trends, and regulatory requirementsHuman Resources Operations & Organizational Development* Support execution of HR programs related to talent management, performance evaluation, occupational health and safety, and employee development* Generate reports and data to support benefit administration, workforce planning, and organizational decision-making* Perform quality reviews of HR and benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance* Assist in developing HR processes and initiatives that improve operational efficiency and employee experience* Support special projects and organizational initiatives as assignedTeamwork & Collaboration* Build positive relationships with employees, providers, leaders, and external partners* Collaborate across departments to support staffing, onboarding, compliance, and workforce planning* Promote a culture of respect, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement* Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactionsConfidentiality & Professional Accountability* Protect confidential employee, provider, and organizational information* Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive HR matters* Maintain ethical standards and compliance with organizational policies* Demonstrate accountability, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of the roleOrganization & Flexibility* Prioritize responsibilities while effectively managing multiple projects and deadlines* Adapt to changing organizational priorities and workforce needs* Support leadership initiatives* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.* Normal hospital environment with exposure to chemical odors, cleaning solvents, and other hazardous materials* Exposure to possible injury when working with electrical equipment and lasers, which requires care and following proper safety proceduresSedentary Primarily sitting/lifting 10 lbs maximumLight X Lifting 20 lbs maximum with frequent lifting/carrying up to 10 lbsMedium Lifting 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting/carrying up to 20 lbsHeavy Lifting 100 lbs maximum with frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 lbsVery Heavy Lifting over 100 lbs with frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs**Bloodborne Pathogens:**Based on the OSHA guidelines for protection against occupational exposure to Hepatitis and HIV, this position is described as Category I. This means the position has exposure to blood and other body fluids.
