Growing Groves is leading a search to find the next Lead Machinist for a mid-size team in the Waukesha area!

Company and Position Summary

The company is not a small size, dirty job shop. It's a mid-size, high-end, clean clean clean, shop just outside of Milwaukee with a well-established business and market position. This is a growth role, not a replacement. This role will be focused on lathe and mill operations for small-to-midsized, high-precision components used in HVAC, food and beverage, and automotive applications. A perfect role for a respected machinist who wants a consistent schedule without the consistent push for overtime.

Location: Waukesha, USA

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Machinist and support other machinists with multi-axis CNC lathe and mill
• Perform setups, select tooling, adjust offsets, etc.
• Make on-line program edits where needed
• Understand and interpret blueprints/spec/schematics and quality documents

Position Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in chip cutting on lathes and mills
• Strong understanding of GD&T
• Experience with on-line edits (G/M code), tooling, adjusting offsets, etc.
• Comfortable on high-end CNC equipment
• Ability to work 100% on-site at an air-conditioned/heated manufacturing facility with potential exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and industrial hazards.

Position Preferences

• Experience with offline programming (G/M code)
• Experience proving out new programs
• Knowledge of various materials, cutting tools, work holding, cutting parameters

Employee Compensation and Benefits

This is an hourly position paying up to $40/hour.
