Seven Healthcare are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Surgery for a travel assignment in Santa Fe, NM. Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse – Surgery:

• Obtain and record initial assessment and prioritize according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
• Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention
• Develop and implement measurable individualized care plans within Nursing Standards of Care time frames
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and patient outcomes, modifying care plans as necessary
• Participate in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
• Evaluate the plan of care
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures
• Utilize effective communication strategies for intended outcomes
• Delegate unit work assignments to ensure completion of required patient care support activities
• Coordinate team assignments and adjust based on patient and unit needs
• Participate in orientation of new staff/students on the unit
• Promote a positive work environment with a professional attitude
• Collaborate with others to achieve unit and organizational goals

Requirements of the Registered Nurse – Surgery:

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing
• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
• BLS Certification from AHA required
• ACLS Certification from AHA required
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served
• Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights in the delivery of care
• Communicates clearly and concisely appropriate to the developmental age of patients
