We are currently looking for a legal assistant for the principal owner of our law firm. This is a full-time, in-house position.

You will be responsible for various duties such as scheduling, entering billing time, typing from dictation and printing out and replying to emails. The position requires strong attention to detail, good typing skills, good judgment, and the ability to be comfortable working with paper cases. You will be working under our senior litigation paralegal in a fast-paced environment.

Your typical day involves:

-Printing emails and replying with attorney’s edits

-Keeping case schedules

-Typing letters, etc. from dictation

-Entering the attorney’s billing time into our billing system

-Filing and organizing cases (digital and paper)

-Answering phone calls from the court, counsel and clients

Requirements:

-Must be able to type 90+ words per minute from dictation

-Basic knowledge of legal matters – specifically insurance defense

-5+ years of experience

-Experience with court filings

-Able to function with tight deadlines

Preferred but not required:

-Able to converse with clients in Spanish.

Priority given to candidates who have previous experience typing from dictation and who have experience in insurance defense law. Hours are flexible but this position is in-office only.
