About the Position

Job Title: Neurodiagnostic Tech II Profession: Neurodiagnostic Technician Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 1st Monday through Friday Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 2+ years of experience preferred License: - Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire Must-Have: Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography Description: Under limited supervision, prepares patients for a combination of routine Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), long-term monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, autonomic testing, neurointerventional procedures, and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Accurately measures and applies electrodes in a timely manner according to the International 10-20 System. Ensures that electrode impedances meet laboratory standards. Documents a comprehensive patient history gathering appropriate information from the patient and family members. Explains test procedures to patients and present family members. Recognizes medical contraindications of activation procedures. Performs neurodiagnostic procedures according to laboratory standards under limited supervision. Prepares testing supplies, exam room, and neurodiagnostic equipment. Implements alternative methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recordings under supervision. Follows standards of care related to collaborative communication with the team and maintains quality EEG recordings. Begins training for EMG, EVP, Autonomics, Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM), WADA, and PET. Triages software error messages and equipment malfunctions. Assists with documentation and charges in a timely manner. Assists with scheduling and checking in patients. Reviews and clips continuous EEG files according to laboratory standards.
