Staff Accountant

Ash Brokerage - Fort Wayne, IN Ash Brokerage has 350 employees dedicated to providing insurance and retirement solutions. The Staff Accountant will support daily and monthly financial processes on the Finance team. Responsibilities Manage key aspects of the receivables process, including preparing and issuing invoices accurately to the appropriate parties, monitoring incoming payments, supporting collection efforts, and completing allowance calculations. Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to established deadlines. Maintain accounting operations and provide support for miscellaneous projects and departmental initiatives as needed. Serve as a backup resource for critical accounting processes to ensure continuity and operational support. Act as a change champion by identifying opportunities for process improvement and assisting with the implementation of enhanced workflows. Provide support for financial analysis, company-wide initiatives, the annual budgeting process, and forecasting activities. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, along with two or more years of relevant experience; alternatively, three to five years of directly related professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Working knowledge of accounting principles, U.S. GAAP, and Microsoft Excel is required.
