Senior Professional Liability Attorney - Accounting Practice

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Senior Professional Liability Attorney for their Accounting Practice in New York, New York. The position is a key leadership opportunity for a seasoned attorney with expertise in defending accounting professionals and firms. Responsibilities Serve as lead counsel in litigation involving accounting malpractice and regulatory compliance matters. Advise clients on risk management, ethics, licensing, and internal governance. Manage and grow client relationships with a focus on strategic, long-term engagement. Collaborate across practice groups to offer comprehensive legal solutions. Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to business development initiatives. Represent the firm externally through thought leadership and professional networks. Requirements Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. 10+ years of experience in litigating and advising on issues affecting accounting professionals. Experience representing accounting firms before the SEC, PCAOB, AICPA, and state boards of accountancy. Existing portable book of business, preferred. Ability to manage complex, multi-party litigation and advise on sophisticated corporate matters. National-level experience with class action and multistate matters preferred. Education J.D. from an accredited law school. Certifications Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Skills Strong leadership and client management skills.
