Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including emergency situations and circulating for C-sections.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, assess amniotic fluid status, vaginal bleeding, and respond to perinatal emergencies (e.g., crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia).
- Administer and manage pain control during labor; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor maternal/fetal status during and after medication administration.
- Educate patients and families on all stages of perinatal care; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement a patient-centered care plan.
- Supervise and delegate to ancillary staff consistent with scope of practice; circulate for procedures as needed and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from approved vendors
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course (or equivalent) and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) credentials or AWHONN certification
- Two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- EPIC electronic medical record experience
- Ability to work in a hospital maternity setting on a unit with unit-needs scheduling
- Night shift availability: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; schedule is based on unit needs (no block scheduling)
