Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. This 13-week assignment starts 09/14/2026, offers 36 guaranteed hours per week, and pays between $2,761 and $2,853 per week. Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients and their families, including management of perinatal emergencies and circulating for C-sections.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a patient- and family-centered care plan in collaboration with the health care team; adjust as needed.
- Monitor fetal and maternal status, assess amniotic fluid status, vaginal bleeding, and identify and respond to abnormalities.
- Manage labor analgesia and pain control; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor maternal and fetal status during and after administration.
- Lead/participate in multidisciplinary rounds; delegate tasks to ancillary personnel within scope of practice.
- Demonstrate readiness to manage obstetric emergencies such as crash C-sections, precipitous deliveries, and shoulder dystocia.

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California) or eligibility to practice there.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required; Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course required; Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or AWHONN certification required.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
- Additional: EPIC electronic medical record experience required.
- Must be able to work the night shift and function effectively in a hospital Labor & Delivery setting.
