Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring Technician

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary: Incumbent provides expertise required to monitor Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) cases in the operating room which may include but not limited to; spinal, vascular, brachial plexus and cranial surgeries. May require but not limited to; Somatosensory evoked potentials, Transcranial motor evoked potentials, Auditory evoked potential, Functional cortical mapping, Cranial nerve electromyography, Lateral spread, Limb Electromyography and D-waves.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must possess current CNIM Certificate from ABRET
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Must be willing to travel between locations within the health system as needed.
• Minimum three (3) years experience as an IONM Tech
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Current BLS certification required by time of hire
• Advanced knowledge of EP and IOM acquisition and artifact detection/elimination
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in the UC Irvine Medical Center operating room
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
• IOM experience with Craniotomy cases
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field
