HR Managing Consultant – Service Center of Excellence Position Summary Employees in this classification apply, communicate, and promote human resources procedural best practices that support the University in achieving stated goals and objectives. Employees participate, following established guidelines, in one or more human resources functional areas such as benefits administration; career planning; classification; compensation; employee retention and organizational culture enhancement; employee relations; employment; environment, safety and health; equal employment opportunity; HR Information Systems; international employment; legal compliance; payroll; policy administration; organizational design; staff development; talent management; workforce planning and/or closely related programs. Employees may need to adapt procedures to address changing situations, needs and/or deadlines. Work involves developing and maintaining productive and collaborative work relationships, assessing and responding to client needs, and using a variety of specialized state‑of‑the‑art technological systems and processes to identify, collect, format, organize and process data and information that support HR programs. Employees make decisions within policy guidelines; communicate policies, procedures and guidelines; evaluate patterns and recommend options. Employees are expected to maintain confidentiality of all information. Work is performed under general to limited supervision and may include supervising others, conducting training, and/or administering a human resources program(s). Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Ability to work in fast paced work environment Ability to perform accurate data entry Verify and validate information within units to facilitate an efficient employment workflow process Maintain knowledge of HR operations, processes, and procedures Ability to work effectively on an independent basis Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form Ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information Strong interpersonal skills, ability to project a positive and professional image Physical Demands Standard office environment. No driving. Position of trust. No financial resources or P‑Card. No direct interaction with children or patient care. Security access required. Credit check required. Background Investigation Policy Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation including a criminal background check, verification of credentials and employment history, reference checks, and a satisfactory credit check. A pre‑employment drug test may also be required for positions with high‑risk responsibilities. Responsibilities Operations Interacting with HR Systems – Using computers and computer systems to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information. Documenting/Recording Information – Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form. Performing Administrative Activities – Performing day‑to‑day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing transactions. Getting Information – Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Making Decisions and Solving Problems – Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work. Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards – Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. Communications & Outreach Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates – Providing information to supervisors, co‑workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e‑mail, or in person. Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships – Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time. Special Projects Serves as a team member on projects with responsibility for developing solutions and/or meeting specified objectives related to human resource issues or programs.
