Support the growth and independence of young adults by stepping into a vital paraprofessional role within a welcoming school environment near Aurora, CO. This contract opportunity centers on working with individuals aged 18-21+ at Transition Services, beginning August 11 and extending through May 2027. Candidates with proven expertise supporting significant or severe caseloads, especially those with strong behavioral backgrounds, are highly valued.

Ideal applicants bring hands-on experience promoting positive behaviors, supporting students with disabilities both in school and in the community, and are comfortable with communication devices. Attention to detail, adaptability, and compassion are essential as you’ll become an integral part of a team that truly makes a difference.

Qualifications:

• Documented experience providing behavioral support, preferably within school or community education settings
• Background working with young adults with disabilities, especially complex or severe cases
• Preference for candidates familiar with communication devices
• Comfortable assisting with personal care needs (including toileting and diapering)
• Reliable personal transportation; ability to consistently arrive by 8:00am
• Willingness to complete immediate fingerprinting; no felony or misdemeanor charges permitted per district requirements
• Two completed, professional RefAssured references required for consideration

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in developing independent living and social skills in both classroom and community settings
• Implement behavior intervention strategies, using positive, proactive approaches
• Assist students with adaptive needs, including physical and communication support
• Engage collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families to maximize student achievement
• Maintain accurate records and uphold high standards of confidentiality and professionalism
