Family of Caring at Ridgewood is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing / Infection Preventionist (ADON/IP) to join our nursing leadership team. This is a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing / Infection Preventionist role at our 96-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Ridgewood, New Jersey.Prior nursing home experience is required.

Our building is known for a strong staff-to-resident ratio, individualized care plans built around measurable results, and a team that treats residents like family. The Assistant Director of Nursing / Infection Preventionist we bring on will work directly with our Director of Nursing (DON) and have real support from administration and ownership. What You'll Do

• Support the Director of Nursing (DON) in day-to-day clinical operations, staffing, and supervision of the nursing department

• Own the facility's infection prevention and control program: surveillance, outbreak management, antibiotic stewardship, staff education, and reporting to the state and CDC's National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)

• Ensure compliance with New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations, and lead the infection control portion of survey readiness

• Mentor and coach nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) on clinical standards, documentation, and infection control practices

• Step in as acting Director of Nursing when the DON is out of the building

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) experience, or nursing leadership experience (Nursing Supervisor, Unit Manager) in a skilled nursing setting

• Must have experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) / long-term care (LTC) setting

• Completion of a CDC/CMS-recognized Infection Preventionist (IP) training course, or willingness to complete it upon hire
