Pediatric Critical Care Physician Job Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
• At least 5 years of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience
• Active Arizona physician license or IMLC Letter of Qualification
• Active DEA registration
• Current BLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Demonstrated proficiency with clinical coding
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required; applicable exemptions may be considered according to policy

PICU Physician Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care to pediatric and adolescent patients in an inpatient PICU setting
• Conduct morning rounds and manage 24-hour critical care coverage
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients ages 0–18 with complex and acute medical conditions
• Coordinate care with pediatric intensivists, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide clinical oversight and timely response to urgent changes in patient condition
• Complete accurate medical documentation and clinical coding in Cerner
• Support safe transitions of care and communicate effectively with patients’ families and care teams
