About the Position

Job Title: PACU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Must have an in-state license prior to start date Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with patient ratios in a PACU setting - Familiarity with Cerner charting system Description: The PACU RN position is responsible for providing care to pediatric patients transitioning from anesthesia. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of two years of nursing experience in a PACU or similar setting. The role includes monitoring patient vitals and administering medications as necessary. Assessment of airway, circulation, and consciousness levels is essential. The PACU RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient recovery. Experience in managing pediatric patients is critical. Knowledge of the necessary certifications, including ACLS and PALS, is required for this position. Floating within the facility or to nearby affiliates may be expected. The candidate must be willing to work two out of three major holidays. Individuals requiring exemptions for the flu vaccine must provide medical or religious documentation. A thorough understanding of patient care standards and safety protocols is essential for success in this role.
