Under the general supervision of the Correctional Case Records Supervisor in Main Records, this position will perform the complex, technical work in the processing, maintenance, and control of incarcerated people or supervised people's records. May serve as the lead person to Correctional Case Records Analyst trainees.

San Quentin Rehab Center is California's oldest and best-known correctional institution, which was established on the site currently known as Point San Quentin, in July of 1852, as an answer to the rampant lawlessness in California at the time. The prison rests overlooking the bay on 432 acres and is located just 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the county of Marin. The walled prison is made up of four (4) large cell blocks (West, South, North, and East Block), one (1) maximum security cell block (the Adjustment Center), Central Health Care Service Building, a medium security dorm setting and a minimum-security firehouse.

Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Either I
Experience: Two years of full-time experience in a correctional or mental health setting performing duties in the maintenance, processing, and control of criminal case records for persons committed to the jurisdiction of local, State, or Federal correctional agencies. (Experience in California state service applied toward this requirement must have been acquired at a level of responsibility equivalent to an Office Assistant, Range B.) and Education: The equivalent to completion of one year (30 semester or 45 quarter units) of college education. (An additional year of the qualifying work experience may be substituted for the required education.)
Or II
Experience: Three years of full-time specialized criminal case record-keeping experience directly related to the courts, legal processes, or legal procedures. (Experience in the California state service applied toward this requirement must have been acquired at a level of responsibility equivalent to an Office Assistant, Range B.) and Education: The equivalent to completion of one year (30 semester or 45 quarter units) of college education. (An additional year of the qualifying work experience may be substituted for the required education.)
