Summary:

**Required Experience and Qualifications:**- Minimum 1 year of experience in oncology and PCU.- Charge nurse experience required, minimum 1 year.- RNs must have experience titrating drips such as insulin and occasionally cardizem.**Preferred Experience:**- Chemotherapy certification is preferred but not required.**Required Certifications:**- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- Basic Life Support (BLS)- Oncology Nursing Society/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONS/ONCC) certification is preferred.**Additional Required Competencies:**- Competence with ventilators and other hemodynamic monitoring such as CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000, ICP (with real-time training available).**Driving and License Requirements:**- Driver's license required at submission to confirm 50-mile radius rule compliance.- License to submit required.**Other Requirements and Notes:**- Hands-free policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas; refusal to remove will lead to contract termination.- Pass/Fail open book skills exam during orientation, with a pass mark of 90%.- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.- BSN is not required.- EPIC experience within the last 6 months needed for orientation attendance (not a deal breaker if absent).**Qualities and Skills:**- Genuine need to care for patients and teamwork skills.- Ability to interact with diverse cultural, religious, and economic backgrounds with respect.- Friendly and positive attitude even in challenging situations.**Clinical Environment and Support:**- RN Ratio: 1 RN to 4 PCU patients during the day, 1 to 5 Med/Surg patients, and 1 RN to 5-6 patients at night.- Traveler RNs may need to float to Med/Surg and PCU units.- Nursing Assistant and additional unit support staff available.- Common patient diagnosis includes oncology.- Common medications and drips include chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, protonix.**Shift and Schedule:**- 12-hour shifts with various time slots available.- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.- Self-scheduling is available.
