Controller

Our client, a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing organization, is seeking a Controller to join their team. As a Controller, you will be part of the Finance organization supporting Accounting, Operations, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership teams. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, exceptional analytical abilities, and a continuous improvement mindset that will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Controller Location: Santa Ana, CA Pay Range: $165,000 to $175,000 What's the Job? Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll accounting, inventory and cost accounting, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and tax compliance. Prepare and oversee accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements across multiple entities. Drive ERP implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting, operational efficiency, and data visibility. Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, cash flow management, and strategic financial planning in partnership with executive leadership. Develop and mentor the accounting team while strengthening internal controls, managing audits, and collaborating cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and IT teams. What's Needed? Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 8+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, including 3+ years in a Controller role. Experience within aerospace and defense, government contracting, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, audit management, multi-entity accounting, and cost accounting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; CPA or CMA certification preferred. What's in it for me?
