As a Surgical Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring successful surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment and assisting the operative team. Your expertise will be vital in preparing for procedures and supporting the surgical team with precision and care.

• Create and maintain a sterile field
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening
• Anticipate the need for equipment and supplies before the case begins
• Ensure all equipment is functioning before use
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and air-powered equipment according to manufacturer's instructions
• Scrub all surgical procedures and understand the special needs, techniques, and requirements of individual surgeons
• Assist RN with completion of operative charge and recording of hardware used during procedure
• Collect specimens and cultures by verifying source and correct tissue identification with surgeon

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required
• One year experience in operating room as a Surgical Technician or Surgical Technician training required
• Certification or eligibility for certification preferred
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required
• Need 1 year experience in setting
