RN - PICU

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Rotating day and night shifts with 2 full weekends required each month. Holiday rotation included.

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care for critical pediatric patients. The RN will have a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience, with the ability to comfortably care for both pediatric and adult patients as needed. This role includes self-scheduling, potentially allowing for block scheduling based on unit needs.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to PICU patients, including congenital heart conditions, DKA, respiratory issues, and neurosurgery cases.
• Utilize sedation protocols and administer vasoactive drugs under physician orders.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including pediatricians and respiratory therapists.
• Conduct patient monitoring and manage equipment for ventilation and tracheostomy care.
• Supervise nursing aides and assist with training where necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
• Current certifications in BLS and PALS are required.
• Valid nursing license and the ability to pass necessary background checks.
• Experience with titrating sedation and vasoactive medications.
