While managing your responsibilities, you will gain exposure to Preconstruction efforts, Project Engineering, and Project Management. In addition, you will work under the direction of experienced Sr. Estimators and the Chief Estimator which provides you with opportunity to learn new industry skills every day. ResponsibilitiesProduces quantitative surveys and accurate pricing for assigned building components on a project from its early inception through an acceptable working budget, GMP, or Lump Sum Price Coordinates and manages estimating documentation during the design phase of the projectPerforms quantity takeoffs and pricing on civil, architectural, and structural portions of projectsEngages in the subcontractor market during the design phase to receive current costing input into each estimating deliverableObtains and presents unit pricing data to lead estimator Outlines clarifications and qualifications within an estimate for assigned building componentsProvides back up for estimates to be used during analysis and reviewUtilizes Gilbane’s estimating takeoff and costing softwareUtilizes Gilbane’s baseline procedures and templates in the performance of their workAdhere to Gilbane’s Baseline estimating playbook and toolsQualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAssociate’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management; bachelor’s degree preferred0-2 years of relevant experience Or equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESKnowledge of On-Screen Take-off, Destini, and Site work software tools for take-offsAbility to complete quantity takeoffs for assigned divisions or building componentsAbility to obtain and scope trade contractor budget pricing proposalsAbility to provide qualifications and clarifications for items that were quantified Strong written and verbal skillsAbility to work in a team-based environmentProficient in Microsoft Office programsUnderstanding of Contract Document and SpecificationsSalary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.For (New York City) this ranges from $64,000-$80,000 plus benefits and retirement program.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
