About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead its teams in a mature and craftsmanship-focused product phase. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a technology vision that prioritizes usability, reliability, and customer experience. This role is not about rapid growth but rather about refining and improving the existing product. The VP of Engineering will work closely with tech leads to enhance execution, mentorship, and process, and will be a key partner to the CEO in making strategic engineering investments. Experience in developing tech leads into engineering managers, deep knowledge of modern software architecture, and a track record of improving product quality in an established codebase are essential. B2B SaaS experience is strongly preferred, with a background in MarTech or adjacent verticals being a plus. The ideal candidate for the VP of Engineering position at the company will be motivated by the challenge of making an existing product better and will be comfortable operating without a pre-existing management layer. They should be adept at balancing strategic thinking with hands-on involvement, and be able to connect engineering decisions to customer experience and usability outcomes. The role requires a pragmatic, organized, and detail-oriented individual who is a strong communicator and can fluidly engage with engineering, executive, and customer-facing audiences. Responsibilities include partnering with the CEO to define the technology vision, identifying and prioritizing technical improvements, and overseeing the planning and execution of product refinements. The VP of Engineering will also be tasked with leading the company's AI transformation and must be prepared to make judgment calls on where to invest engineering capacity for the highest customer impact.
