School Aide

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities and lesson plans.

• Supervise and engage with children during playtime, both indoors and outdoors.

• Support the lead teacher in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.

• Provide individualized attention to children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

• Assist with daily routines, including snack time, nap time, and bathroom breaks.

• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.

• Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

• 6 + units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) (required).

• College credits (required).

• High school diploma (required).

• Previous experience working with young children is preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Monday - Friday

• Morning & Day shifts - 7:30am - 4:00pm

• Afterschool Shifts - 12pm-6pm

• Competitive Pay Rate - up to $25 / Hour

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
