Patient Care Associate-PCA - Oncology (Part-Time)

Patient Care Associate (PCA) Position located at Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO (Oncology Progressive Department). Shift : 12‑hour days or nights, acting part‑time (minimum 8 hours/week or 16 hours per pay period). Responsibilities : Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assist in individualized patient care to achieve the highest level of wellness. Work cooperatively in a team, perform designated clinical and non‑clinical support tasks essential to patient care. Qualifications Experience : None required. Mercy provides a required 175‑hour training program that meets state requirements, completed within 90 days of hire. Required Education : High school diploma or GED. Preferred Education : CNA or CPTC, enrollment in a healthcare career program, or current Mercy employee. Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within one month of hire; completion of PCA competencies within 3 months. Preferred Certifications : Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Physical Requirements : Must push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds regularly; stand and walk for prolonged periods; be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.
