About this role

We are looking for a Strategy & Analytics Senior Lead to drive mission critical product and business decisions. This role owns the strategic direction for a cross-functional pod with a broad mandate, identifying and answering critical questions such as: What should our next 6-month strategy look like? What is the biggest lever to move our north star metric? What roadmap items should we prioritize to maximize impact? How can we learn from our launches and experiments to make the next iteration better? How and why are our most critical metrics moving?

The S&A team at Faire is unlike any other analytics team. We are leaders in our space — owning the metrics, analytical roadmap, prioritization, and strategic decisions end-to-end. We have a unique combination of skills including strategic thinking, problem solving, execution, and technical acumen that enable us to tackle the most ambiguous problems and influence key leaders on high stakes business decisions. We are true thought partners to many functions including Product, Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Finance.

This is an ideal role for someone who wants to work as a high-impact individual contributor in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and data-driven environment. This is a high-visibility role where you'll regularly present strategic insights and recommendations to Faire's leadership team, and your work will directly drive positive impact for Faire and our customers.

Retailer Growth Pillar focuses on growing Faire’s retailer base by acquiring, activating, and retaining more retailers, ultimately driving demand and deeper engagement with the marketplace.⁠

Brand Pillar drives Faire’s supply side — acquiring new brands, building tooling to help them run their businesses, partnering with them to maximize their growth and success on Faire, and ensuring quality of the marketplace.

Value Pillar makes Faire the best place for independent retailers to buy inventory, building programs that take cost and friction out of sourcing inventory: membership discounts, flexible financing, a fulfillment network enabling lower minimums and faster and cheaper shipping, and simpler inventory workflows behind every order.

Discovery Pillar focuses on the core shopping experience — helping retailers find the right products and brands through search, recommendations, ads, and exploration while balancing marketplace dynamics.

What you’ll do

• Break down complex and ambiguous strategic problems to uncover actionable insights
• Tackle large cross-functional strategic initiatives that move company metrics in partnership with Product, Sales, Finance, Operations, Marketing, etc.
• Identify opportunities, develop hypotheses, execute in-depth analyses and make recommendations to Faire’s leadership team based on your findings
• Own the most important metrics for our business by having deep intuition on how they are trending and surfacing the most salient strategic insights to drive them
• Provide thought partnership to cross functional teammates to ensure the organization is using data thoughtfully and correctly
• Develop effective and scalable operational processes and fill operational gaps
• Level up the Strategy & Analytics team through new and improved processes, training, coaching and more

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience in an analytical and strategic role across product analytics, consulting, or business operations
• You are a strategic problem solver. You can break down ambiguous problems and apply a first principles approach to solving them
• You are highly analytical and metrics-focused. You can execute on complex analyses, define KPIs, size opportunity areas, and measure and report on performance across the business
• You are a strong communicator. You can crisply communicate actionable data-driven insights to all audiences including senior leaders
• You have strong product and business intuition. You contextualize how insights fit into broader business goals and have a strong understanding of product and business metrics
• You have a solid analytical foundation. You can use SQL or Excel to analyze large datasets and have strong analytical rigor
• You are scrappy and resourceful. When something needs to get done, you always find a way to make it happen
• You are an extraordinarily fast learner. You have the natural curiosity and intellectual horsepower to deeply understand new topics and pick up new skills in a very short time

Salary Range

San Francisco or New York City: the pay range for this role is $197,500 - $271,500 per year.

This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as will be indicated in the job posting.
