Crisis Counselor of Project Impact - On Call Be among the first 25 applicants Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is a not-for-profit social service agency with over 70 program sites across Illinois. Our services include counseling, mental health, substance abuse treatment, housing, work with prisoners and their families, and services for older adults and children such as preschool, foster care, and adoption. We are hiring two On-call Crisis Counselors for Project IMPACT at Thorek Memorial Hospital Andersonville in Chicago . Project IMPACT is a 24/7 behavioral health crisis program aligned with hospital emergency departments in Chicago and Oak Park. The crisis teams conduct onsite and phone intakes for triage, evaluation, crisis intervention, disposition, admission, and resource linkage. Crisis Counselors assess patients in crisis, develop care plans, and connect them to appropriate mental health, substance use, and behavioral health services, including inpatient hospitalization. The environment is dynamic, with a wide range of patient presentations across the behavioral health spectrum. This position complies with CMS rules requiring full vaccination unless exempted for medical or religious reasons. Routine COVID-19 testing is also required.
