Wastewater Maintenance Operator

Job TitleGeneral Purpose - Perform a variety of skilled maintenance, operational, and laboratory duties associated with the operation and maintenance of the Cedarburg Water Recycling Center and collection system.Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Operate valves, pumps, chemical feed, screens and grit removal equipment. Perform preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, and process equipment including pumps, motors, blowers, valves, lift stations, the collection system, and buildings and grounds. Clean wet wells and operate pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment process of wastewater; monitor and operate gauges, meters and control panels; observe and interpret variations in operating conditions. Collect samples and identifies concentrations of chemical, physical or biological characteristics of wastewater required in accordance with local, state and Federal requirements; gather and test wastewater samples for plant efficiency reports and for use in determining processing requirements; maintain records; perform other routine tests. Ability to participate in weekend and after hour rotations.
