Human Resources Generalist Location: On-Site, Newark, CA Reports To: Regional Human Resources Manager Job Summary The Human Resources Generalist will lead and support the full spectrum of HR functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, safety, and culture development. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Own the full‑cycle talent acquisition process, treating each requisition as a project: planning, job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer administration, negotiation, and pre‑employment verification. Partner with stakeholders to define knowledge, skills, abilities, and cultural fit, translating requirements into actionable hiring strategies. Continuously improve onboarding and orientation programs. HR Operations & Compliance Track and document compliance with mandatory & non‑mandatory training and certifications. Execute HR programs: compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, investigations, performance management, recognition, health & safety, and training. Handle employment‑related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; refer sensitive matters to the Regional HR Manager. Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and recommend best practices. Stay updated on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies. Culture, Morale, & Team Member Experience Champion a culture that values visibility, inclusion, and connection. Plan and execute employee recognition programs, events, and morale‑building activities. Collaborate with leadership on engagement strategies and translate feedback into actionable initiatives. Safety & Workplace Environment Administer workers’ compensation claims, maintain OSHA logs, and ensure EEO/affirmative action compliance. Maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant work environment, including PPE and consumables. Uphold company core values and other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The position is a leadership role but does not involve direct supervision. QUALIFICATIONS Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication. Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or related experience. Strong empathy, active listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Organizational and time‑management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Knowledge of employment‑related laws and regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems. Adaptability to changing work environments and competing demands. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Stand, walk, sit, and use hands/fingers continuously. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or lift up to 50 pounds. Repetitive hand/wrist activities. Adequate vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception). Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts. Computer skills for ERP and payroll time‑tracking software. WORK ENVIRONMENT Exposure to moving mechanical parts, hot or cold environments, chemicals, fumes, loud noises, electrical shock, vibration, or other hazards; personal protective equipment may be required.
