Plasma Cutter Operator

Plasma Cutter Operator Olive Recruiting is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Plasma Cutter Operator in Houston, TX to support metal cutting and fabrication operations. This is an entry-level operator position responsible for operating plasma cutting equipment, handling materials, and ensuring completed parts meet work order and quality requirements. The ideal candidate is reliable, mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Location: Houston, Texas Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Full-time, direct hire opportunity (not a temporary position) Key Responsibilities Operate plasma cutting equipment safely and efficiently following established procedures. Follow work orders, shop drawings, measurements, and production instructions. Load, position, and handle metal materials for cutting. Monitor equipment during operation and identify basic operating issues. Inspect finished parts for accuracy and overall quality. Remove slag, grind, deburr, and finish cut parts as required. Use tape measures, squares, and other basic measuring and hand tools. Perform basic equipment cleaning and routine operator maintenance. Maintain an organized and safe work area. Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable OSHA guidelines. Work alongside welders, fabricators, and production personnel to meet production schedules. Qualifications Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; previous plasma cutting experience is preferred but not required. Manufacturing, welding, fabrication, construction, or other hands-on industrial experience is a plus. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plasma cutting equipment. Ability to follow work instructions, measurements, and basic shop drawings. Ability to safely use basic measuring and hand tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift, move, and position materials as required. Comfortable working around industrial equipment, sparks, heat, dust, fumes, and elevated noise levels while wearing required PPE.
