Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer III (Sr.) - Interim Top Secret

Job Description In this Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer (Senior, Level III) position, we are seeking an experienced GNC Engineer who will serve as a Line of Sight (LOS) analyst. The role specifically is looking for a specialist in the subject of optical line of sight (LOS) jitter analysis for precision pointing spacecraft to support multiple satellite buses including, but not limited to, the LM400 and LM2100 satellite series. Successful applicants generally have at least 3+ years of related experience and may have a post‑secondary degree or training in a related discipline, such as Aerospace Engineering or another related field. Basic Qualifications Domain experience in spacecraft controller design and optimization. Experience developing and verifying performance of simulation models in simulation environments using programming tools that include MATLAB/Simulink and C++. Domain experience in LOS modeling and analysis. Skill Requirements Familiarity with optical line of sight (LOS) jitter analysis for precision pointing spacecraft. Desired Skills Experience with CORESIM. Experience with flight software development and autocode to C++ and Python. Attitude Determination and Kalman Filter experience. Multi‑body dynamics experience. Familiarity with a GN&C hardware suite for space applications. Domain experience in dynamics modeling. Experience with LOS accuracy budgets. Experience in Finite Element Modeling. Experience in disturbance modeling. Experience through a spacecraft program life cycle encompassing requirements generation, design, analysis, integration, verification, and testing of the GN&C subsystem for space applications including mission operations. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment. Demonstrated good communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors, and customers. Security Clearance / Work Authorization The position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen. Interim Top Secret clearance is required to start employment. Applicants must be eligible to obtain Interim Secret to be considered qualified. Selected candidates will be required to obtain, and maintain, a government‑issued Secret clearance for long‑term employment on this program.
