Job Description Family Engagement Specialist The Family Engagement Specialist is a school‑based position that ensures students and families are positioned to engage in learning daily. This role plays a major part in building relationships with families while setting the tone for exceptional customer service. Role Responsibilities Partner with students, staff, and parents to ensure students attend school every day: orient families to attendance expectations, make daily attendance calls, document attendance changes, capture and share key information from calls, participate in weekly attendance check‑in meetings, and partner with families when additional attendance supports are needed. Execute school‑based re‑enrollment and cultivation plans: support families through the re‑enrollment process, complete application verification calls and update the application system, assist with planning of school events and activities, partner with other schools to support families through transitions, review and submit student attrition data reports, identify trends, and work with school leadership to improve attrition rates. Ensure clear and effective communications with all community members and stakeholders: implement and lead parent involvement programs, manage translation of family communications and parent meetings, capture pictures and videos for school events and manage school communication platforms, ensure all parent‑facing materials are readily available, schedule parent meetings with appropriate team members, build relationships with community partners to build brand awareness, and monitor and review parent and student feedback with the Assistant Principal of Operations. Qualifications Required Education and Experience Bilingual: English and Spanish required. Strong project and time management skills; ability to effectively plan, juggle multiple priorities with great attention to detail, and deliver consistent, timely results. Experience with managing and entering data. Sense of humility, customer service mindset, and shows urgency with the ability to proactively solve problems and make decisions quickly. Ability to establish relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
