We are seeking a diligent and highly organised Procurement Assistant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our scientific teams have the necessary supplies and equipment to drive groundbreaking research.

Responsibilities

• Assist the procurement team with the day-to-day purchasing of laboratory consumables, reagents, and equipment.
• Create, process, and track purchase orders from requisition to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, including scientists and laboratory managers, to understand their procurement needs and specifications.
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm order details, and resolve any shipment or invoicing issues.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities, including supplier information, pricing, and order history.
• Monitor stock levels of key supplies and assist in inventory management.
• Support the negotiation of terms with new and existing suppliers to secure advantageous conditions.
• Assist in preparing reports on procurement metrics, such as spending and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a procurement, purchasing, or a similar administrative role.
• Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and external partners.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) or Google Workspace.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote setting.
• A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
• Experience within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or a related scientific industry is highly desirable but not essential.
• Familiarity with procurement software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems would be an advantage.
