USA Jet Power A&P MechanicUSA Jet Power is a 14 CFR Part 145 Air Agency Repair Station located in Oscoda, Michigan, authorized to perform maintenance, inspection and testing on Pratt and Whitney JT8D turbofan engines that are certificated to operate upon Boeing 727, 737, Douglas DC-9 and MD88 aircraft. USA Jet Power is housed in a state-of-the-art 51,000 sq ft facility that supports its engine repair operations and parts warehousing.A&P Mechanics report directly to Lead Mechanics or Director of Operations while at the USA Jet Power Maintenance Base. At an outstation, A&P Mechanics report to Maintenance Control.Overhaul, maintenance and repair of powerplants, and associated components in accordance with USA Jet Power manuals, Manufacturer's manuals, Bulletins, and Orders.Mechanics will be required to sign for work accomplishedThe Mechanic, in performing his duties, is required to be constantly alert for defective, worn, or failed parts as well as safe working conditionsThe Mechanic may be assigned to such housekeeping duties as policing his work area or repair and maintenance of Company propertyResponsible to actively participate in USA Jet Safety Programs. Required to report all safety concerns in a timely manner. Required to ensure that they and their co-workers are performing their functions in the safest possible manner. Required to follow the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration with legal authority at the location at which they are workingPerform all tasks as assigned by their Lead or Senior ManagerHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).Must possess a current airframe and powerplant certificate.Minimum one (1) year aviation experience and Jet Engine Shop and or one (1) year experience on JT8D type engines (1-17AR, -200 series).Knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements.A&P Mechanics may be required to have certain valid ratings depending on the type of work they are to perform.
