Responsibilities Unit 8E is an acute care unit that cares for adult surgical patients—endocrine surgery, benign gynecologic surgery and gynecologic oncology patients, as well as medicine hematology patients including blood cancers—leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, blood diseases—aplastic anemia, immune and genetic diseases. All nurses on this unit receive required hospital‑based training, competency check off for chemotherapy administration and EKG interpretation training. Telemetry capability is available to provide the highest possible level of care for our patient population. We are located in the C.S. Mott Children’s and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital—an award‑winning, state‑of‑the‑art facility. Required Qualifications Current Michigan RN license for all candidates that have passed the NCLEX. GN applicants will be considered for this position; the selected Graduate Nurse candidate will successfully pass the NCLEX for Michigan RN licensure prior to the start date. Nursing Specific Info Salary & Nursing Framework Level: This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F. Work Schedule Hours: 36 hours per week, 2 of 4 weekends per schedule. Shifts: Night shift, 8‑ and 12‑hour shifts. Dual Unit Information: Home Unit will be 8E. The RN may need to float to either unit during a scheduling period based on either unit's staffing needs. Holidays and PTO will be determined from the home unit (8E). All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
