Senior Insurance Underwriting Production Specialist, Excess & Surplus Lines

Senior Production Specialist, Excess & Surplus Lines Location: Parsippany, NJ – Full time. In this role, you will independently select, monitor, and price new and renewal business within company guidelines. You will market our products, travel with assigned agents as required, communicate with agents regarding rating, underwriting, and policy issuance issues, assist in training support staff, coordinate special projects, develop and maintain the underwriting guide, and collaborate with underwriting, claims, and regional teams to identify coverage needs, develop forms, and address emerging trends. Responsibilities Independently select, monitor, and price new and renewal business according to company guidelines and Underwriter’s level of authority as outlined in the Authority Letter. Market our products and services and travel accompanied to assigned agents as required. Communicate with agents regarding rating, underwriting, and policy issuance issues. Assist in the training of support staff within the team and the department. Assist, implement, or coordinate special projects and timetables such as revised forms, new coverages/classes, research, and underwriting guide revisions. Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing in‑house education training or other company functions. Responsible for the maintenance, updating, and development of our underwriting guide. Work with the Head of Western World, the National Director, and regional underwriting teams to identify coverage needs and develop forms and guidelines. Work with Western World claims teams to identify emerging trends and address issues via T&C changes as applicable. Ensure consistency of coverage positions across sub‑segments of the portfolio. Work with regional underwriting teams to identify coverage training needs and assist in implementation. Travel independently on the company’s behalf to market products and services. Qualifications Broad based insurance industry experience with specialization in contract bind. 5+ years of insurance operational management experience. Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and distribution. Process and system skills. Strategic orientation, ability to manage vision and purpose, and develop organizational capability. Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with agents, internal staff, and management. Ability to collaborate with others and thrive within a team environment. Salary & Benefits Base salary range (Parsippany, NJ) is $73,900–$103,500, with eligibility for a bonus in accordance with the applicable incentive plan.
