Accountant DutiesServe as an accountant conducting day-to-day work operations.Prepares original accounting transaction entries into financial systems and recurring reports related to accounting practices.Monitors basic obligations incurred and the actual expenditures of funds; identifying conditions over and under funding obligation.Analyzes a wide variety of documents, reports, policies, operations and procedures within the assigned accounting or financial management area.Develops alternative options to improving financial management performance.Offers recommendations or ways to protect the integrity of procedural and systems modifications to maximize utilization of resources.Reviews incoming, outgoing, and summary financial reports to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of financial operations and financial reports submitted from a variety of customers.Reviews financial data and assists with identifying trends, potential financial problems, and funding shortfalls.Researches and analyzes available information, regular and recurring events in the cost of accomplishing specific work objectives, and relationships among organizational needs and objectives.Prepares ad hoc reports as necessary.
