Quality Inspector

Magnetic Seal has an opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join our team! This opportunity will be located in Warren, Rhode Island. Position Summary The Quality Inspector performs visual and dimensional inspections on machined components utilized in the assembly of Aerospace and Industrial seals. Using various handheld and benchtop measurement equipment this position ensures compliance to both internal and customer dimensional requirements. The candidate will be responsible for generating and completing appropriate documentation such as dimensional inspection records, production routers, and non-conformance reports. Essential Functions Responsible for a broad range of daily Quality Inspection functions to include: Performs Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspections on Machines Parts Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and other customer and industry specifications Understand geometric symbols and tolerances Use of standard measurement gages such as calipers, micrometer, drop indicators, etc. Ensure both dimensional and visual compliance to internal and customer standards Adhere to Quality systems procedures and submit discrepancy reports / material review requests when problems are found Evaluate product specifications and examine them to meet customer requirements Good understanding of GD&T with a clear understanding of its intent Follow prescribed Quality Work instructions and utilize equipment as directed Responsible for a broad range of daily Quality Control functions to include: Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend corrective actions Notify supervisor and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems Discard or reject product, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications Verify raw material lot number traceability Store and handle all Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately to prevent unauthorized access, dissemination, or use Support visitor and security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information, documents, product, etc. from unauthorized access Handle the proper management of hazardous waste generated in employee's work area Perform other duties as assigned Maintain regular and acceptable attendance and comply with all essential functions of this job Required Skills & Qualifications Acts in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment Background in mechanical Engineering with Basic CAD understanding Ability to read and understand technical drawings (blueprints) Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, ERP Systems, Document Control and other databases; able to learn additional programs as needed Direct technical skills in reference to the equipment in the cell Assure all work is processed swiftly, timely, and with high quality result Demonstrate a safety-first thought process Perform work accurately and thoroughly Communicate effectively with others both verbally and in written form Make decisions while following company procedures Use critical thinking and reasoning to solve problems Attention to detail, accept responsibility, and adapt to change easily Demonstrate honesty, integrity and conduct conforming to accepted values and standards Work independently with minimal supervision and interact well with others when working in teams Possess strong self-motivation and process work efficiently and timely Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications High School Diploma or equivalent required At least one (1) year of continuous, professional experience in Quality required Physical Requirements Able to stand, walk and sit frequently Bend, squat and kneel occasionally Reach outward frequently Reach above shoulder occasionally Use fine manipulation frequently Handle and grasp tools/equipment and products repetitively Rotate parts constantly Read and write in English Lift/carry up to 20 lbs. frequently Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally Push/pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally Visual acuity to see close detail, distance and colors constantly May come into contact with chemicals Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required Manufacturing shop and inspection lab environment with open floor space; may be noisy at times and is climate-controlled Work onsite per business needs and per employee's standard hours Wear required Personal Protective Equipment constantly ITAR/EAR Compliance This position requires access to export-controlled information and/or hardware, and candidates must be U.S. Persons that comply with all U.S. Export control laws and regulation.
