Join Our Team: We are searching for a part-time Patient Service Representative for our Tesson Ferry Pediatrics office located at 13303 Tesson Ferry!

Opportunity:

• Part-time opening
• This position is scheduled for three (3) days per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Specific workdays will vary from week to week based on business needs, so flexibility is required. One Saturday morning from 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. will be required approximately 1 - 2 times a month.
• No nights or holidays
• Outpatient clinical practice
• Not benefit eligible

Day-to-Day:

• Perform patient check-in/out
• Schedule patient appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Verify insurance
• Register patients/update patient demographics
• Answer the telephone
• Balance monies at day end
• May be required to enter physician-related charges into the computer
• May be required to bill hospital/nursing home charges

Who We Are Seeking (Preferred):

• The Patient Service Representative is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
• Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 or more years of experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology,
• Knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO's, PPO's, etc.
• PC/Windows proficiency.
• Medical coding familiarity.
• Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
• Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
