ASSEMBLER TECHNICIAN - Rancho Bernardo, CA - 1st Shift

Job Description

• As an assembler, you will build and validate precision opto-mechanical assemblies following detailed procedures. You will utilize standardized tools and electric equipment, such as torque wrenches and pneumatic screwdrivers, to perform mechanical assembly. Your role will involve entering data into company databases and conducting inspections and tests throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

• Build and validate precision opto-mechanical assemblies according to procedures.
• Use standardized tools and electric equipment for mechanical assembly.
• Enter data into company databases.
• Perform simple standardized inspections/tests during production.
• Collaborate with engineers for special builds and experiments.
• Work with peers and supervisors to resolve issues.
• Operate precision cleaning machinery.
• Prepare completed assemblies for shipment.
• Recommend procedural improvements to management.
• Ensure quality control measures are followed for module production.
• Identify and document discrepant material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Assembly and repair skills.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and electric/pneumatic tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and report problems effectively.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with electro-optical and/or opto-mechanical systems.
• Ability to detect visible defects with 20/20 or corrected vision.
• Understanding of customer relationship building and service skills.
• Experience in environmental testing is desired.

Work Environment

• The position involves working on either the first or second shift from Monday to Friday, with comfort in a cleanroom environment essential. Physical demands include sitting, walking, and handling materials, with occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. The work setting is generally moderate in temperature and noise, with opportunities for occasional travel depending on business needs. Employees are expected to work under deadlines and interact with colleagues across various scenarios.

This is a Contract position based out of SAN DIEGO, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
