Job Description & Requirements Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Job Summary Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical (Med Surg) - Pagosa Springs, Colorado. This position involves providing observation and inpatient care to patients within the Med Surg Unit. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer nursing procedures, monitor changes, educate patients and families, collaborate with healthcare providers, and ensure continuity of care to help prevent readmission. Job Details Location: Pagosa Springs, Colorado Schedule: Day Shift, 0615 to 1845; 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience required; previous traveler experience required; Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR)/Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience required; graduate of an accredited RN program required; current Colorado RN license or ability to obtain required licensure in good standing; current AHA BLS certification required; current ACLS and PALS certifications required or to be completed within 3 months; basic computer skills; and electronic health record experience. Responsibilities: Provide patient care within RN scope of practice; perform comprehensive assessments, care planning, interventions, and evaluations; monitor patient conditions and report abnormalities; administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen, and blood products; operate infusion pumps; document in Cerner EHR using standard protocols; perform age-specific nursing care; interpret cardiac rhythms; educate patients and families; transition care using SBAR format; follow infection prevention practices; maintain patient confidentiality; collaborate with healthcare team; serve as a mentor; and support continuous learning. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy work including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assisting with patient movement; exposure to blood, bodily fluids, chemicals, hazardous materials, and communicable diseases. Additional Requirements: Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, service excellence, sound judgment, adaptability, and independence in a fast-paced hospital environment.
