US Field Medical Operational Excellence Sr. Manager United States - Washington – Bothell United States - Pennsylvania - Collegeville United States - New York - New York City United States - Massachusetts - Cambridge Role Summary The US Field Medical Operational Excellence Senior Manager is an integral member of the US Field Medical and Field Medical Operational Excellence Team. They support the development and implementation of key global and US category‑led initiatives that impact multiple Medical Affairs stakeholders and markets. By combining organizational and project management expertise with financial acumen and a deep understanding of Medical Affairs strategic priorities, they facilitate seamless execution of medical plans and uphold a customer‑focused, professional, and ethical environment. Role Responsibilities Strategic and Organizational Alignment Supports the Specialty Care Field Medical Director Lead in aligning and coordinating goals, priorities, and efforts across Medical Affairs categories, asset teams, and cross‑functional partners. Project and Operational Support Supports assigned Asset or Field Medical area activities such as Ad Boards and medical congresses, tracking project deliverables, schedules, budgets, and quality plans. Serves as a subject‑matter expert, offering operational guidance and sharing best practices to ensure consistency across processes and systems. Drives creation and implementation of simple medical processes to support data generation and communication activities. Builds and maintains business relationships with Finance, Contracts & Outsourcing, Compliance, and Operational Excellence teams. Facilitates Field Medical Team meetings, prepares agendas, presentations, and distributes minutes and action items. Leads tracking and analysis of performance metrics and collaborates with Operational Excellence colleagues for alignment. Financial Management / Tracking Supports financial management and forecasting for assigned Asset or Field Medical budgets, collaborating with finance and Field Medical Lead. Partner with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and external customers to develop and execute consultant agreements, service level agreements, and confidentiality agreements. Provides budgetary guidance and serves as a resource for financial questions. Works with Medical, Finance, and Financial Systems teams, including the Portfolio on Demand (POD) team, to ensure accurate forecasting and budget management. Supports the development of the Asset and/or Field Medical Strategic and Operating Plan and the operating plan process. Qualifications Candidate demonstrates a breadth of capabilities, including influence, collaboration, and operational excellence that drives meaningful business impact. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related fields; advanced degree (e.g., masters) highly preferred with 6+ years of experience. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a Medical Affairs organization; Project Management and Business Operations experience; adherence to project management methodologies; demonstrated success managing complex projects with budgeting; cross‑functional collaboration across Medical, Medical Information, Corporate Communications, Digital, and Commercial; ability to manage resources and multiple projects; embodiment of Pfizer’s Values of Courage, Excellence, Equity, and Joy; strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills; high performance record; self‑motivated, detail oriented, and adaptable; knowledge of Pfizer systems (POD, Ariba BOD, EngagePlus); skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams. Travel & Work Schedule Flexibility to travel 10% of the time, including potential international travel.
