HR Generalist

Location: Peoria, IL Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: CEO Position Summary The HR Generalist will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, policy implementation, compliance, and HR record management. This role serves as a key resource for employees and managers and helps ensure a positive and productive workplace environment. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding Coordinate recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring. Manage onboarding and new employee orientation processes. Maintain applicant tracking and hiring records. Employee Relations Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and employment matters. Assist in resolving employee concerns and workplace issues. Support employee engagement and retention initiatives. Benefits & Compensation Administer employee benefits programs and enrollments. Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries. Support compensation and payroll-related processes. HR Administration Maintain accurate personnel files and HRIS records. Prepare employment-related documentation, including offer letters and status changes. Track employee training, certifications, and compliance requirements. Compliance Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Support workplace safety and workers' compensation programs. Assist with HR audits and reporting. Training & Development Support performance review processes. Assist managers with employee development initiatives. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience. 2-5 years of human resources experience. Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Preferred Experience using Paycor SHRM-CP or PHR certification. Experience with benefits administration and employee relations. Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or professional services environments.
