Technical Account Manager SME

Responsibilities Manage the relationship with Small and Medium Enterprise customers. Renew and upsell a client base quarterly and ensure proper deployment of new and upsold services. Conduct regular technical checkups and serve as the primary point of contact for clients. Assist with client inquiries using resources such as Support, Pre‑Sales, or Management. Gather customer feedback, details, and use cases and deliver them to the internal organization/product manager. Measure success by annual renewal rate, upsell rate, and overall satisfaction of SME customers. Work closely with Pre‑Sales to help close customers from a technical perspective. Perform most work over the phone with occasional travel to clients, partners, and trade shows. Qualifications Background in security and systems/networking. General knowledge of current IT security fields including firewall, IPS/IDS, vulnerability management, network scanners, PCI, policy compliance/GRC‑IT, audit tools, and other enterprise security solutions. 2–3 years of experience in the Software‑as‑a‑Service (SaaS) industry providing network security, IT‑auditing, and policy compliance solutions. Knowledge of federal regulatory compliance issues such as HIPAA, GLBA, Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX), FISMA, and SCAP. Knowledge of auditing frameworks such as CIS, NIST, COBIT, ISO27001, ITIL, and NERC‑CIP. Excellent work ethic with a “make it happen” attitude. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong phone communication skills with the ability to travel occasionally.
